Administering Estates
Whelehan Solicitor Tralee act for executors in relation to applying for Grants of Probate and the administering of the deceased’s estate.
An executor is the person named in the Deceased’s will. They are responsible for ensuring that the instructions set out in the Deceased’s will are adhered to. An executor assists the solicitor by providing as much detail of the deceased’s assets/liabilities to enable the smooth administration of the estate.
Once the Grant of Probate has been obtained, Whelehan Solicitor Tralee can then arrange for the payment of any debts due and distribution of the remaining assets to the beneficiaries of the estate.
If there is no Will
If a deceased passes away without making a will (die intestate) Whelehan Solicitor Tralee can advise on how to obtain Letters of Administration in the estate. This will generally be dealt with by the deceased’s spouse or next of kin. The Estate is administered according to the law of intestacy.
