What is a Power of Attorney

A Power of Attorney is a legal document appointing another person to act on your behalf in managing your affairs and property.

A Power of Attorney may be drawn up if you are going out of the country for a long period of time and your affairs require management while you are out of the country. A Power of Attorney may also be drawn up by an elderly person who requires assistance managing their affairs.

An Enduring Power of Attorney is a legal document allowing an individual to appoint a family member to look after their financial affairs in the event that they lose mental capacity in the future.
